The annual Global Inspiration Conference is a week-long celebration of the breath. It is held in a different country each year, in a venue with beautiful natural surroundings.

Each month, the SustainableTrip.org editors carefully select one tourism business that is making outstanding efforts to conserve natural resources and improve livelihoods in local communities. Yacuma Ecolodge stood out for its work with the Chontayacu rainforest community, particularly our involvement with the Chontayacu indigenous community school.

We are proud to announce that our lodge Yacuma Ecolodge has been awarded the Smart Voyager Certification, and we are in the process for our hotels Fuente de Piedra I and II.Many would say this is the final step in achieving an eco-friendly operation. For Ecuahotel Group it is certainly not the beginning and for sure not the end. It has been a long process of continuous improvement in our environmental practices.
Smart Voyager is an optional eco-certification program that is recognized by Rainforest Alliance. The Smart Voyager program was created in 1998, with the aim to minimize the environmental impacts of tourism. In the year 2002, Smart Voyager was recognized by UNESCO, as an example that should be implemented in all of the natural patrimonies of humanity. Smart Voyager is a founding member of the Sustainable Tourism Certification Network of the Americas.
In order to obtain the Smart Voyager Certification Yacuma Ecolodge has demonstrated it adheres to strict environmental, social, safety and comfort standards.
